Electro-Technical Officer
As an Electro-Technical Officer (ETO) onboard Acta Marine vessel, you will be responsible for the maintenance, repair, and optimal performance of electrical & instrumentation systems, ensuring compliance with safety, maritime, and environmental regulations. You will support the engineering and bridge departments, ensuring safe navigation and operations, with a focus on DP mode, walk-to-work operations, and vessel machinery.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with the Chief Engineer to perform repairs and maintenance on Electrical & Instrumentation systems and nautical instruments.
- Assist in watchkeeping routines as requested by the Chief Engineer.
- Provide electrical support to the engine room and bridge personnel.
- Execute engine room duties in compliance with flag state administration, class, IMO, and port state authorities’ regulations.
- Ensure the operation and maintenance of lifesaving appliances, fixed firefighting systems, emergency stop devices, and emergency equipment.
- Participate in safety meetings, drills, and emergency response situations.
- Maintain familiarity with the vessel’s operation manuals and FMEA.
- Perform safe and efficient testing, maintenance, and repairs on machinery, electrical equipment, and systems to ensure the safe operation of navigation and DP mode.
- Understand failure modes and consequences of equipment failure, optimizing redundancy in critical systems.
- Assist in internal and external audits, inspections, and surveys to maintain the vessel’s class.
- Schedule repairs and document all work carried out in the planned maintenance system.

Who are we looking for?
- Certification according to relevant STCW Code (III/6) and Flag State regulations as described in the Training Matrix.
- Minimum 3 years of Diesel Electric and DP experience.
- Experience with mission equipment such as W2W gangways and motion-compensated offshore cranes is preferred.
- Experience with Planned Maintenance Systems, particularly MARAD, is a plus.
