In the offshore construction sector, maintaining uptime is the key to success. Demonstrating a proven track record on this subject is Acta Marine’s Offshore Support Vessel Acta Orion. Delivered in 2015, this 108-metre vessel has already completed several major offshore wind projects such as Gemini, Global Tech 1, Nordsee One and Racebank.
Not only does Acta Orion provide a safe and comfortable living environment for offshore technical crews, it also significantly widens the window of operational activity to include less favourable winter months. The vessel’s capabilities combined with the crew’s resilience and expertise means that work can be performed around the clock; even in the most challenging conditions. Walk-to-work operations are supported by an Ampelmann E-type system.
Raising the bar on productivity
Productivity can be further improved by combining the Acta Orion with our Crew Transfer Vessels (CTVs). Although these are smaller in size and are not intended to stay offshore for long periods of time, these CTVs can use the Acta Orion as a ‘mother ship’ for refuelling and crew change purposes.
As well as increasing effectiveness, organizing a project in such a way creates a flexible and safe working environment for offshore construction teams. This one-stop-solution enhances our operational performance whilst raising the bar on offshore Winter Workability.
