Crew Manager

Acta Marine seeks a Crew Manager to undertake the direct responsibility for the manning of the CSOV/SOV, and ensures that our vessels have the right people, with the right skills, available at the right time for the right price.

 

You will ensure effective staffing and utilization of crew within the business unit whilst supporting the business and talent strategy. In addition you will initiate and implement change initiatives as well as continuous improvement to meet the high standards required in the industry.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Ensure that the CSOV/SOV are manned with the right crew at the right time, with the right skills, for the right price;
  • Partnering with operations and commerce to understand business strategy and optimize planning issues;
  • Development of the annual approval invoices in close cooperation with operations and commercial department and throughout the year keeping track on the actuals;
  • Establish manning requirements through a solid manpower plan including optimizing the crew cost and development of crew;
  • Liaise with HR department to follow up on and implement HR strategy and ensure individual crew issues are followed up;
  • Increase crew planning efficiency by actively supporting and further development of the use of the company crew management system (Adonis), liase with Crew Manager AMWS regarding Adonis. Set up and implementation document control (SharePoint). Set up and implement procedures, work instructions, templates;
  • Recruitment of new crew for the vessels including sending the offer and preparing the contract;
  • Keeping abreast of all statutory manning regulation and relevant legislation;
  • Look for continuous improvement and operational excellence to meet the high standards as required in the industry;
  • Act as company representative for crewing matters during fairs, training centres and maritime schools.

 

WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR

  • HBO Human resources, business administration or similar;
  • Multiple years’ experience as crewing coordinator and/or HR manager;
  • Good knowledge of relevant maritime legislation including STCW 2010, MLC, SOLAs and Flag-state Authority regulations;
  • Well established network of industry contacts including manning agencies, and seafarers;
  • Strong knowledge of safety practices is essential;
  • Proven experience in the maritime industry;
  • Good business communication skills;
  • Fluent in English & Dutch;
  • Good software skills like ERP Systems and MS-Office application.
