Crew Coordinator

Due to the expansion of our CSOV fleet we are looking for a Crew Coordinator. In this position you will be responsible for the manning of the vessels. The Crew Coordinator will be liaising with the vessels, agencies, employees, and Operations Project Coordinators to ensure appropriate manning on board to provide an efficient service to meet our client’s needs.

 

Main Responsibilities

  • Planning and maintaining crew records using the Company Crew Management System (Adonis);
  • Compilation and management of sea staff contracts, certificates, and qualification (including checking the validity);
  • Travel, Visa, and relevant joining documentation management;
  • Ensure the complete crew joining the vessel has completed required training before embarking; Determine gaps in training requirements and organize/book the training courses;
  • Check crew expenses and agency invoices;
  • Keeping abreast of all statutory manning regulations and any relevant changes;
  • Screening and initial evaluation of candidates;
  • Verification of seafarer certification and qualifications when hiring new crew;
  • Establishing and maintaining relationships with Crewing Agencies;
  • Establishment of a seafarer pool which can be drawn from to man managed vessels, support other operations in the region and new start-up projects and contracts;
  • Responsible for a high level of crew satisfaction;
  • Ensuring crew leave cycles are properly managed and that crew are relieved on time;
  • Maximizing crew availability by constantly reviewing crew movements and maintaining contact with off-duty crew;
  • Ensuring pre-joining routines for new-joining crews are effectively managed and sufficient time is allocated for assessment/evaluation, company inductions and company safety systems familiarization.

 

Job Requirements

  • MBO- degree (a bachelor's degree is a plus);
  • Good to expert user of Microsoft Office products;
  • Team player, striving towards the common goal;
  • Quality focus & continuous improvement;
  • Strong interpersonal skills;
  • Strong written and spoken communication skills in Dutch and English;
  • The right to work and live in the EU;
  • Knowledge of/experience with below subjects, is a plus:
    - Relevant Maritime legislation including STCW 2010 (Manila amendments), MLC, SOLAS and Flag State Authority regulations;
    - Offshore safety practices;
    - Visa requirements globally.
