Junior QHSSE Manager

Acta Marine seeks an all-round Department Manager QHSSE to support Acta Marine in taking our QHSSE performance to a higher level and support our changing business environment.

Key responsibilities

• implement, update, review and audit QHSSE systems
• facilitate and assist in the effective implementation of appropriate QHSSE system procedures and ensure timely update in line with changes in legislation and company directives
• promote a safety culture ashore and onboard and motivate the importance of complying with company system procedures
• conduct internal audits and coordinate external audits in the office and on board our vessels
• assist with incident investigations
• provide support to departments on any QHSSE related subjects (internal and charters/projects)
• ensure proper HSE reporting from assigned vessels
• prepare QHSSE documentation for new tenders
• initiate required QHSSE safety inductions and/or training for staff and crew
• participate in risk assessments sessions e.g. HAZID's
• responsible for the BHV plan (availability, training, excersises)
• assist the new build team with document administration and certification

Requirements for the position:

• technical & nautical education/MAROF
• safety science/Engineering education preferably IVK, MKV or HVK or willing to obtain this
• 1 or 2 years of experience on a seagoing vessel (apprentice period included)
• knowledge of Management Systems, Incidents Investigation, Auditing Techniques and Risk Management
• knowledge of ISM, ISPS, MLC and other relevant Nautical Standards and codes
• fluency in both Dutch and English
• open to travel approx. 10% of the time
• good organizational skills, able to multi-task and prioritize work in a dynamic operational environment
• self motivated and driven to succeed, with a constructive and professional attitude
• strong analytical, auditing and reporting skills
• enthusiastic people-person with excellent communication skills
