DP Multicats

Acta Marine was the first marine support provider to use Dynamic Positioning technology on smaller workboats – operating DP Multicats since 2009. These vessels are equipped with a certified DP system to ensure perfect positioning, enabling vessels to hold position without the use of anchors. As a result, they can work more efficiently and are not affected by obstructions on the seabed. With a great history as a leading provider and an up-to date existing fleet of shallow draft DP vessels, Acta Marine is keeping up with the times and preparing for the future.

In 2021 the latest DP-2 addition to the fleet 'Coastal Crown' came into service, with following distinctive features:

• The world’s first commercial workboat with both Tier-3 engines and hybrid/ battery power.
• An operating draft of less than 2,0 m in DP-1 or DP-2 mode.
• The most sustainable and fuel efficient workboat in the market, resulting in;- 73% savings on NOx emissions,- 20% savings on Fuel and CO2 emissions.
• Accommodation available for up to 19 persons.

Ultra-shallow waters 

With an operational draft of less than two metres, our DP Multicats are really in a league of their own. Providing large deck space and heavy duty, long reach cranes, they are particularly suited for operations in coastal and shallow waters. Furthermore, we look continuously for the best solutions and innovations in order to improve our fleet to match our clients’ needs.
