Camp Boss
As a Camp Boss onboard Acta Marine vessels, you will be responsible for the overall leadership and management of the catering and housekeeping team. You will ensure the preparation and delivery of healthy, diverse, and sufficient meals for all personnel onboard while maintaining high standards of hygiene and sanitation within accommodation and catering facilities. Working closely with the vessel’s management team, you will oversee the planning and coordination of catering services, monitor daily operations, and ensure compliance with health, safety, and hygiene regulations. You will delegate tasks, supervise the performance of your team, and ensure efficient execution of all catering and housekeeping activities. In addition, you will provide guidance, instruction, and training to team members when necessary, supporting their professional development and maintaining a high standard of service, cleanliness, and wellbeing for everyone onboard.
Key Responsibilities
- Representing Acta Marine and training the catering team accordingly as well on the HCCAP/Food hygiene guidelines and the values of our company.
- Solving small challenges on board the vessel.
- Escalating large challenges straight away to the relevant parties.
- Carrying out the catering services within the scope and in budget.
- Preparing and serving of meals: you must serve high quality and tasty meals.
- Menu Planning according to scope of the client.
- You will be end responsible to providing proper sanitation and hygiene of accommodation facilities according to the scope.
- End responsible of all documentation and reporting on a daily and monthly basis.
- Responsible for quantity control from receiving of goods till serving of cooked food.

- Giving direction to the crew in a result-oriented way by formulating clear goals, monitor the progress and correct crew if necessary.
- Works effectively towards a common goal, also in cases when it does not serve a personal interest.
- Creates opportunities or identifies problems and handles appropriate without hesitation.
- Understands and uses safe working practices and personal shipboard safety procedures at any time.
- Maintain high quality standards and strives for continuous improvement and quality assurance.
- Communicates effectively with all personnel involved in operations. Adjusts communication to the level of the other person. Managing personal emotions and stress.
Who are we looking for?
- Certification according relevant STCW Code and Flag state regulations.
- Ship’s cook diploma.
- 3-to-5 years relevant experience as Camp Boss, Senior Chief Cook or Chef Manager.
- Computer literacy (MS Office, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook).
- Relevant knowledge and control of the provision and food stores.
- Ability to safely and properly handle and operate all galley equipment.
- Food hygiene knowledge.
- Strong leadership skills.
- Understanding of all aspects of vessel hospitality & catering operations and sound judgement skills.
