The new vessels in our fleet will be equipped with dual-fuel engines. As a First Officer onboard Acta Marine vessels, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient operation of the vessel during your watch, in full compliance with safety, maritime, and environmental regulations. You will oversee the bridge and deck crew, manage voyage planning, maintain navigation charts, and act as the vessel’s welfare officer. Additionally, you will take on the role of Chief Officer in their absence, supporting the vessel’s operational continuity and ensuring the highest standards of safety and production are met.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain safe, maritime-correct, and environmentally responsible sailing during your watch.
  • Familiarize and mentor bridge and deck crew members to ensure a well-coordinated team.
  • Oversee the maintenance of ship’s administration (e.g., ships log, daily reports).
  • Serve as the vessel welfare officer, ensuring crew well-being.
  • Act on the Chief Officer’s behalf in their absence, ensuring smooth operations.
  • Maintain safety and environmental regulations on board, ensuring all procedures are followed.
  • Regular maintenance and testing of Bridge equipment and DP equipment.
  • Plan voyages, ensuring all aspects are thoroughly covered.
  • Keep navigation charts and nautical publications (electronic and digital) up-to-date and accurate.
  • Implement and execute Acta Marine’s Integrated Management System, company policies, and the Ship Security Plan.
  • Comply with both national and international maritime laws and regulations.
  • Optimize vessel production and continuity, contributing to operational efficiency.

Who are we looking for?

Qualifications & Experience
  • Certification according to the relevant STCW Code (II/2) and Flag State regulations.
  • DP Unlimited certificate.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar role, preferably in the offshore wind industry.
