As Daughter Craft Master, you’ll lead all daughter craft operations, ensuring safe, efficient, and compliant performance at all times. From supervising the crew to taking full responsibility on board, you play a key role in keeping everything running smoothly. You’ll also coordinate activities, support maintenance and reporting, and represent Acta Marine when needed, making this a dynamic role with real responsibility and impact.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervision of all  daughter  craft  activities.  
  • Ultimate responsibility and overriding authority on board the daughter craft, including launch/recovery operations and emergency situations. 
  • Represents Acta Marine and the vessel during any relevant client meetings carried out onboard of the SOV, on request of the SOV Master.   
  • Responsible for implementation and execution of Acta Marine company policy.
  • Ensures that  planned  maintenance is carried out in an efficient and economical manner in cooperation with SOV Technical Department and onshore Technical Department. 
  • Maintain  accurate records of daily consumption, boat movements and PAX transfers for implementation into SOV daily reporting.  
  • Check and maintain safety and environmental regulations (e.g.  MLC,  MARPOL,  WBC 3) which are relevant to the Daughter Craft.   
  • Maintain  all relevant statutory and non statutory ship certificates for the area of operation.
  • Maintain an overview of the daughter craft crew statutory certificates (including seafarers medicals and SEA’s) for review by the SOV Master or  port  authourities.  
  • Responsible for the familiarisation and training of daughter craft crew  
  • Comply with  all national and international maritime law and regulations.   
  • Knowledge of the relevant Acta Marine policies and procedures.

Who are we looking for?

Qualifications & Experience
  • RYA/MCA Master Code 200gt  (or equivalent) 
  • UK CeC endorsement if applicable  
  • GMDSS GoC (including UK endoresment) 
  • STCW:
    • Personal Survival Techniques 
    • Fire fighting and fire prevention 
    • Proficiency in Survival craft and rescue boats
    • Proficiency in Medicare 
  • MCA Small Ships Navigation and Radar training (not applicable if in possession of STCW II/3 CoC or higher) 
  • MCA 1 Day Ship Stability Course  
  • Seafarers Medical (accepted by the MCA  and Netherlands) 
  • Minimum 3  years  of  experience  in  a  similar role. 
  • Experience in offshore wind industry is preferable.
