The new vessels in our fleet will be equipped with dual-fuel engines. As a Third Engineer onboard Acta Marine vessels, you will be responsible for ensuring the efficient and safe operation of the ship’s engine room and associated machinery. You will manage and maintain technical systems, ensuring compliance with maritime and environmental regulations. Working alongside the Chief and Second Engineers, you will help maintain equipment, train the engine room crew, and support the vessel’s operational performance to ensure safety, efficiency, and sustainability.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain technical safety and environmental compliance during your watch.
  • Oversee the familiarization of engine room crew members.
  • Keep ship’s technical administration updated and accurate.
  • Ensure the efficiency of the planned maintenance system, collaborating with the Chief and Second Engineer on main and auxiliary equipment repairs and maintenance.
  • Manage spare part stocks in coordination with the Chief and Second Engineer.
  • Adhere to and maintain safety and environmental regulations, including the upkeep of safety equipment (e.g., ISM & ISPS).
  • Implement and execute Acta Marine Integrated Management System, company policies, Standing Instructions, and Ship Security Plans.
  • Comply with national and international maritime laws and regulations.
  • Contribute to the optimization of vessel production and continuity.

Who are we looking for?

Qualifications & Experience
  • Certification in accordance with the relevant STCW Code (III/1) and Flag State regulations.
  • At least 2 years of experience in a similar role, preferably on a DP2 vessel.
  • Experience with mission equipment, such as W2W gangways and motion-compensated offshore cranes, is an advantage.
  • Familiarity with Planned Maintenance Systems (particularly MARAD) is desirable.
