Acta Orion active in Gemini development

| Reading time 5 minutes

Our latest Wind Farm Offshore Support Vessel Acta Orion, christened in October 2015, has started its work within the Gemini wind park, located in the Dutch part of the North Sea. The main activities of the Acta Orion is to provide support during the construction phase of the offshore wind park.

Gemini will be one of world’s largest wind farms in terms of capacity, size and production, producing renewable energy for about 1.5 million people. This is equal to the total amount of people living in the three northernmost provinces in the Netherlands. Therefore, the renewable supply of energy produced by this wind park is able to meet a large part of the Dutch energy needs. Consequently, the Acta Orion contributes to a more sustainable future for both the Netherlands and our planet.

Currently the Acta Orion is actively involved with the further installation of the infield cables and the large substation of the windpark. The vessel has a length of 108 meters and is 16 meters wide, and provides a well-equipped working environment.
