HR Business Partner

As an HR Business Partner, you are part of the HR team, and you act as a trusted partner to managers within our organization. You advise on employee relations, performance, absenteeism, development and organisational matters. The role also contributes to HR projects, process improvements and consistent HR service delivery across Acta Marine.
You work on both tactical and operational HR topics such as recruitment, performance management, employee engagement, absence management, organisational effectiveness. You take end to end ownership of your scope, including ensuring accurate and smooth administration.
You know how to handle sensitive employee matters with discretion, integrity and professionalism.
Key Responsibilities
- Advising managers and employees on HR topics such as performance management, absenteeism, development, disciplinary matters and labour conditions.
- Supporting managers in applying HR policies, procedures and labour legislation correctly and consistently.
- Supporting and coordinating HR processes such as onboarding, offboarding, contract changes and personnel administration.
- Ensure HR practices comply with labour law, internal policies, GDPR and governance requirements.
- Support absence management, reintegration processes and employee wellbeing initiatives.
- Contributing to HR projects related to Performance Management, Learning & Development, process optimisation, systems (e.g. AFAS) and organisational development.
- Supporting HR reporting, data quality and KPI tracking.
- Contributing to the continuous improvement and digitalization of HR processes
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree (HBO) in Human Resources Management, Business Administration or a related discipline.
- Experience: Minimum 5 years of experience in an HR advisory or HR generalist role.
- Solid knowledge of labour law, HR processes and employee relations.
- Strong communication and advisory skills.
- Shows resilience, is organized, detail oriented and able to prioritize in a dynamic environment
- Experienced in handling sensitive employee matters with discretion, integrity and professionalism.
- Experience with HR/ payroll systems (e.g. AFAS), Exact HRSG and MS Office.
- Fluent in Dutch and English, spoken and written.
- Experience in a maritime, offshore or project‑based environment is an advantage.
- Based in the Rotterdam Area
