As a Technical Superintendent, you are responsible for the technical condition, maintenance, and operational readiness of our state-of-the-art Walk-to-Work (W2W) vessels that support offshore wind projects.

You ensure that our vessels operate safely, efficiently, and in full compliance with class, statutory, and client requirements. With your technical expertise and hands-on mindset, you play a key role in maintaining vessel performance and reliability, directly contributing to the success of our offshore wind operations.

Key Responsibilities

As Technical Superintendent, you will be responsible for:

  • Managing the technical condition, maintenance, and performance of assigned (C)SOV’s.
  • Planning, executing, and monitoring preventive and corrective maintenance, including annual and intermediate surveys.
  • Ensuring compliance with SOLAS, MARPOL, ISM, ISPS, and other relevant maritime regulations.
  • Overseeing maintenance and certification of Dynamic Positioning (DP) and motion-compensated gangway systems.
  • Conducting vessel inspections and condition assessments to ensure operational readiness.
  • Supporting offshore wind operations by ensuring vessel reliability during turbine access and maintenance campaigns.
  • Preparing and managing technical budgets (OPEX/CAPEX) and monitor procurement of spare parts and services.
  • Planning and supervising dry-dockings, major repairs, and class renewals, from specification and tendering to completion.
  • Driving continuous improvement in safety, technical performance, and operational efficiency.
  • Leading or supporting incident investigations and promote a strong QHSSE culture on board and onshore.
  • Mentoring and guiding Engineers, Superintendents, and vessel crews.

Job Requirements

We are looking for someone who combines technical expertise with operational insights and the ability to connect with people. You bring recognize yourself in the following points: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marine Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent.
  • STCW Management Level Certificate (Chief Engineer or 2nd Engineer).
  • 8–12 years of technical experience in the marine or offshore industry, including at least 3–5 years in a superintendent or senior engineering role.
  • Proven experience managing DP2 vessels, SOVs, or W2W units in offshore wind or oil & gas operations.
  • Strong knowledge of Class rules, ISM, PMS, and HSE systems.
  • Experience with fleet management and maintenance software (e.g. Marad).
  • Excellent leadership, analytical, and organizational skills.
  • Valid offshore medical certificate (OGUK or equivalent) and BOSIET / FOET with CA-EBS.
  • GWO Basic Safety Training is a plus.

Please note: our new Technical Superintendent has to have a sufficient understanding of the Dutch language ánd has to be a Dutch resident (to be able to commute to our Rotterdam office).
