Manager Operations France

For our new office in Montoir-de-Bretagne (France) we are looking for a Manager Operations. The new Manager Operations will be accountable towards the Managing Board for all the operational activities of Acta Marine France with an emphasis on efficient, cost effective and safe execution of the activities. Oversees daily operations for the business unit(s). Responsible for customer delivery, proper equipment and motivated personnel.


Key Responsibilities


  • Accountable for the daily operations management of the vessels ensuring the correct service delivery as per the contract as agreed with our clients;
  • budget holder for assigned business unit;
  • co creates and helps implement a strategy designed to let the business grow;
  • advises the managing board on the company’s operations policy and strategy and on desirable investments and modifications of vessels;
  • ensure the development of tactical programs to pursue targeted goals and objectives; coordinate the development of key performance goals for functions and direct reports;
  • manages direct reports;
  • responsible for informing and upholding QHSSE (standard operating) procedures for all crew and relevant staff personnel;
  • ensure overall delivery and quality of the unit's offerings to customers;
  • engage in key or targeted customer activities;
  • evaluate and decide upon key investments in equipment, infrastructure and talent · optimizes long term margins and customer relations;
  • brainstorming and/or visits with Commercial Department and Charterer on technical and operational capabilities and specifications of a vessel;
  • creates sustainable and reliable relationships with Acta Marine’s departments, captains, suppliers, clients and business partners;
  • handles outstanding debtors with finesse.




  • BSc of MSc degree relating to management and or e.g. Maritime Operations or Shipping and Transport;
  • 5 to 8 years’ experience, in a management/leadership position;
  • familiarity with business principles, practices and contracts;
  • ability to lead and work in a multi-disciplinary and multi-lingual team;
  • good communication skills in French and English;
  • excellent business communication skills for both external and internal audiences / clients;
  • affinity with maritime industry.
